Behind the Scenes at the WIT Awards 2021

The countdown to the Women of the Year in STEAM Awards arrived faster than I expected.
And honestly? It was such an incredible feeling to play a small part in honoring women who are making an impact across science, technology, engineering, arts, and math.
If you’ve followed me for a while, you may know that I previously served as the Digital Marketing Manager for Women in Technology, an amazing organization based in Atlanta that is dedicated to empowering women and girls in STEAM.
Each year, Women in Technology hosts the WIT Awards to celebrate women in Georgia who are leading boldly, building meaningful careers, and making a difference in their communities.
These women are more than finalists.
They are business leaders, innovators, visionaries, trailblazers, and catalysts for change.
Our night of STEAM honors was held on October 16 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, and from the moment guests arrived, you could feel the energy in the room. The excitement, the connection, the celebration — it all felt so special.
Throughout the evening, I had the opportunity to connect with incredible women in STEAM, capture moments from the event, and interview attendees for our social media channels.
And one of my favorite behind-the-scenes contributions?
Guests were able to view the finalist slide deck I created, which played throughout the evening and helped spotlight the amazing women being honored.
This event was such a beautiful reminder of why storytelling matters.
Because behind every award, every title, and every accomplishment is a woman with a story worth celebrating.
